My old Garden shed. |
The big event this week has been the demolishing of my old shed. It was in a pretty bad state when we moved here but it was fine to store the shredder, trimmers, and mowers plus all the assorted gardening items, tools, etc. plus a various assortment of dog and cat crates, traps. It also provided for a welcome home refuge for various little, and not so little creatures. At one time we have seen armadillos, opossums, skunks and stray cats under and in the shed plus many spiders, lizards, mice, and the occasional birds, inside mostly.
We knew as it was taken down there was a large hole in the floor and the piles of sunflower seeds and acorns piled in various corners showed that a lot of wildlife found this shed to be a desirable dwelling.

Now it is all gone thanks to B& N service. They came at the weekend, after a whole week of rain and despite the ultra soggy, mucky ground hacked it all to pieces and took away all the junk so now we are left with a super soggy area and lots of wet clods of muddy soil.
All the guys saw of our visitors was one very large opossum that came out from under the old floor and took off for the woods.
Not sure who was scared most!!
All gone! |
Gardening( mostly weeding)has been taking over my life this past couple of weeks, so no time to write blogs. I have managed to read a couple of books and I'll blog them later on.
