This was a new one. I guess a daylily But where did this color come from? |
This year has definitely been a discovery garden at my house.
The mild and rainy weather has brought up all kinds of things from the ground that to my knowledge I never planted.
So nearly every day I can go out and discover something new . Usually it is a flower that I hadn't seen before.
This is one that comes up every year and no one yet knows just what it is. I guess a verbena of some kind. I certainly didn't plant it. |
Where did it come from? Is it an old seed that has been buried all these previous years? Is it a weed that has blown in? Did a bird or wild animal drop it in passing? Whatever is it?
This I was convinced was a weed as it was everywhere. I'm so glad I let it grow. |
And so I start out the performance of discovery. Maybe a friend will know? Maybe I can find a photo on the internet? Shall I let it continue to grow? Is it a weed that will become invasive and spread?
Here's another close up Thanks to Mike for all the good photos. |
It certainly keeps me busy and makes life in the garden very interesting.
I just wish I could remember all the names of the plants when I eventually discover what they are!!
