I have painted lots of cats but not often using watercolor paints. This one proved quite difficult to do as it was really many different tones of grey set on a very similar background. The eyes were rather strange as well and usually, that is the point of the cat that is the main feature.

This was the challenge painting for January.
 It looked very simple. Just a couple of flowers in a clear vase.
It actually was very difficult to get the shine on the water and to make the flowers stand out against the background color.

That's why I do these challenges because they are indeed a challenge.
This one is in watercolor and is 12" x 8".
