I bought my angel trumpet ( Brugsmania) plant about 3 years ago and knew it would be a challenge to grow as this is a plant that grows tall. It also takes a few years to mature into a big and beautiful bushy plant. It dies back to the ground each fall and in this part of the Texas needs to be heavily mulched to save it from dying.
This year it grew well but either due to the intense sun or pests, the leaves dropped continually so I didn't expect any blooms.
So I was quite surprised when in November a couple of unopened buds developed and I wondered if they would make it before the cold weather came and the whole plant died back.
Well they did. Such beautiful flowers, Well worth the wait.
