Winter came to Texas. Jan 6th

We knew it was coming. The forecasting was good. We live in North East Texas where our winter seasons are short and usually fairly mild. A few snow flurries they said but they won't settle on the ground. They did.  A light covering of snow was there by mid afternoon. It was really cold in fact the coldest day on record for here, 24 degrees. That's what made it feel REALLY like winter.

It did make the berries on the Nandina bushes look very wintery and pretty.
But true to form for Texas, by late afternoon, the sun had reappeared through the clouds so the snow won't stay long now.
